The Town of Indian Head Parks and Recreation has partnered with local organizations, Phenomenal Young Women, Inc.; Cage Free Voices, LLC; and REAL Women, Inc. to host the nationally recognized mural project “Girl Noticed”. Girl Noticed makes the bold statement that it is a community’s responsibility to yield to the greatness in every girl. The image of three women/girls will be drawn in charcoal along with the words “NOTICE ME”, on a large exterior wall. The individuals chosen represents many others like them.

The weekend of events begins on Friday, June 15th from 6 to 10 pm with creative workshops and Saturday, June 16th from 7am to 5pm with mural design, music performances and food vending. This is an eventfor all of southern Maryland so we welcome everyone to come out and be party to this event.

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else submit a personal statement. Lori Practico, founder of Girl Noticed, will make a selection and those selected will submit a photograph for the mural.
